Photoshoot at The Rookery
A couple of weeks ago I had a photoshoot to get some new fresh photos of the Kokkino ranges. It was a beautiful day at The Rookery in Streatham Common, London, and the team were all such great fun and worked really hard. I’m saving the final finished photos for a while, but there are some snapshots of the day that give an idea of what we got up to!
The photographer I chose to work with was Oscar May – check out his website and find him on facebook, he’s a really talented guy and a pleasure to work with too. Also in the team was the lovely Carmen Goetz as make-up artist and chief snapshot taker, and the model was the fabulous Rebecca Swinn.
Happily the sun co-operated with our plans and shone for us throughout the day, I even went home with slightly pink shoulders! I’m so pleased with the way the images have turned out, and we’ve already planned to get together and take a few more shots…but you’ll just have to wait a little longer to see them!!

I’m really pleased to have been accepted to sell on the new
The quality of the handmade items for sale is really high and the site looks vibrant and bright and exciting. I knew it would be top notch as it was the brainchild of Sarah James (who organises the fantastic Contemporary Craft Fair in Devon and Made by Hand in Wales) and Katie Honnor.
So it really is worth a look for all sorts of items, from cute little ruby slipper badges by Alix Swan
to this beautiful tea table by Pascha design
and divine covertable jewellery by Suzanne Potter
Oh, and not forgetting Kokkino!
I think we all need a little treat, we’ve worked hard all year so far, right!

Are you talking about me…?
It’s always nice to get a compliment and I’ve just found Epages blog featuring kokkinoshop.co.uk used as inspiration and commenting on how beautifully it’s designed.
To quote…
“The online shop of the British jeweler kokkino is all about precious silver and gold chains, bracelets and rings. To really showcase the products, kokkino selected an unostentatious design for the shop. Light, bright grey tones form a enclosing space with a large white area that gives the products room to breathe and make an optimal presentation. Large product images and an unadorned and open header underscore the exclusive offering of the jeweler. Colour accents for information texts and product descriptions are visually appealing and add to the exclusive feeling of the site without overpowering the high-resolution product photos. All-in-all, a harmonious and reduced design.”
It took many hours of hard work, so it’s great to be noticed! Thanks Epages!
New Collections revealed!
So, everything packed and ready for a fantastic show at the Contemporary Craft Fair, in Bovey Tracey. It’s been very hard work getting everything ready and perfected, but now is the time and fingers crossed the work will be well received!
Here is a little snippet of the new Mandala and Shimmer collections – the whole range will be on the website very soon.
Here’s to a lovely weekend! x
Almost Ready for Bovey Tracey..
At the moment there’s lots of activity and excitement (no, not panic!) in the workshop as the Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracey, Devon is drawing ever closer! It’s a lovely show to do and a beautiful part of the world, and also great for me to meet people who love Kokkino! The new collections are almost ready to show, so let’s just keep everything crossed for some fair weather!
You don’t have to take my word for it though – here’s a little video to give you a taster, and if you look closely you might just spot Kokkino!!
It’s the 11-13th June, full details to be found here at the Contemporary Craft Fair site
See you there!

Another order from the British Musuem
Back in 2008 we were approached by the British Musuem Buying department to work alongside them and create a range of jewellery for an exhibition they were holding this spring summer.
The exhibition was Shah Abbas, and Iranian/Islamic Architecture. Working alongside the buyers and the product development team we designed the pendant below.
Since our first delivery in March, sales have gone well. We are just finishing our latest order for them and sending down another batch of 30 sets, or pendants, earrings and bracelets.
It has worked so well for the British Musuem, they have placed the items into their own wholesale/trade catalogue and are actively selling the jewellery collection to other musuems around the world who are carrying a similar exhibition.
Exciting news for us this is…
Its been a good year so far….25 new stockists
Lets hope the rest of 2009 carries on like the first part of the year. With the winter season more or less on us all now it’s time to concentrate on that Christmas season and the busy part of the year.
But looking back at the year so far we have taken on 25 new customers so far in 2009 and this is since February this year. So our plan to have people selling for us and increasing our trade events is working.
This goes to show that our jewellery is still working for our all of our customers and is proving its worth to those looking to stock new names and brands.
Our new outlets are in the UK, Ireland, Holland and Belgium so far.
So thanks to all of our customers for the loyality shown in the tough year, and a special welcome to our new customers and we look forward to working with you over the coming years.
